The Cold War between the IPA and the CIS

I haven't mentioned the IPA in my blog in recently times. Couldn't be bothered.

However, was chatting the other day at a barbeque with some people in the know, and one of them had some interesting stuff to mention.

That is, that there is a rarely talked about Cold War between the IPA and the CIS. It seems that the people at the IPA are very insecure about CIS founder Greg Lindsay and feel very threatened by him. Apparently they think that he is a maverick that they find it very hard to deal with. [Typical sort of thing to expect of the Melbourne establishment.]

Well... I have always said that it would make sense for Greg Lindsay to roll the tanks over the border and take over the IPA. However, when you look at the history of think tanks of the past 25 years or so, it is the IPA which has a history of taking over and dismantling other right wing think tanks, such as the AIPP and the Tasman Institute. I think Greg Lindsay has more reason to be wary of the IPA than they do of him.
