Today is the first day of a 9 week holiday.
I usually have trouble juggling a work-life balance, but after my various health scares this year, plus some high pressure work stuff this year, time to relax for a bit. Missed out on a promotion I wasn't all that desperate to get, and decided that it is time to reassess my priorities and take some me-time.
After all, with cholestoral and pre-diabetes and borderline high blood pressure, I think I need to relax, water my tomatoes over the summer, and put my life into proper perspective.
Starting with a trip away. I am at the airport waiting for a flight to Newcastle. Have only been to Newcastle briefly for a funeral, about 5 years ago, so I am keen to spend 3 days there and have a good look around and see it. I have a feeling that, given it is on the other side of Sydney, Newcastle is as culturally different from Melbourne as any city in Australia can be.
