Was in Beaufort a couple of weeks ago, looking for a weekender. There was a 4 bedroom house on a quarter acre block going for $75g.
Sadly, it was a total dump, worth a whole lot less than that.
The trip was not a total loss. Down a side street and near the railway station was the Beaufort hotel, a rather large but empty pub with a few photos of the local footy team on the wall.
Stopped there for a beer and picked up the 192nd stubby holder for my collection.
Haven't written off Beaufort in terms of a place where I might buy a place or some land sometime soon, so I will probably be back.
